Beechbrook Capital supports shareholder realignment in Corstorphine + Wright

12 July 2019

12 July 2019 – Beechbrook UK SME Credit II has supported the management team of Corstorphine + Wright (“C+W”) to complete a shareholder realignment. Our investment will allow the second-tier management team to participate in and benefit from the future growth of the company.

Founded in 1978, C+W is an architectural design practice with offices in 10 UK cities. Led by the senior management team of Paul Turner, Jeff Downes and Michael Lampard, C+W has established a scalable business model of strong organic growth supplemented by investing in and nurturing small two-to-three partner practices to gain specialist sector knowledge and regional coverage across the UK.

Jon Herbert, Managing Director of the UK SME Credit funds commented: “We have really enjoyed getting to know the C+W team and are delighted to have completed this investment with them. We believe the team has developed a differentiated and successful business model, which we look forward to supporting through the next chapter of growth. We are excited to be working with Paul and his team over the years ahead.”

Paul Turner, Group Director at C+W, commented: “The team at Beechbrook has delivered what they promised at the outset of our journey to find a financial partner to support us as we take C+W forward. Beechbrook’s support has enabled us to ensure that all the senior team members are aligned with a common goal, and it gives us the confidence to continue to grow through further consolidation of the fragmented UK architectural services market.”
